The Cordyline Red Sensation (Cordyline australis “Red Sensation”) also known as the cabbage tree is native to New Zealand. Resembling some yucca species, it bears deep purple, sword-like foliage and white flowers in the spring. Red Sensation is stunning as a specimen planting and can be grown in pots for those who that can’t grow it outdoors all year. Cordyline Red Sensation is a low-maintenance plant and hardy within zones 8 through 11 on the U.S. Department of Agriculture Hardiness Zone Map.
